St. Clair Historical Society is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit public charity with offices in St. Clair County, Alabama. We seek to preserve the county, community and family history of St. Clair County. We publish a journal of local history and genealogy every three months: January, April, July, and October. Each October we sponsor a Fall Festival at the John Looney House Pioneer Museum in historic Beaver Valley. We continue preservation and protection of historic sites including the John Looney House Pioneer Museum circa 1820. The Pioneer Museum is open by appointment during daylight hours for tours on week-days and week-ends. We sponsor a genealogy workshop and a history fair in February. Join the society or renew your membership.
